Paul Thomas Anderson: From A Distance
Anderson loves to use long shots in his films, his characters are adrift, looking for someone or something to connect with in their lonely worlds. This idea is expressed visually through the use of far shots and extreme wide shots; characters lost within the frame.

"Haring" by Davor Bujakovic & Junaid Chundrigar
Haring tells the tale of Diederik, a guy who makes the mistake of eating a herring right before a date. When he finds out his fishy breath destroys everything in its path, he does his best to get rid of the smell, while also trying to reach his date in time.
Haring was made with the collaboration from the Netherlands Film Fund, SNS Reaal and Pathé and was made for the 2014 UltraKort program. The film screened in front of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" in all Dutch Pathé cinemas.

Planet Under Pressure
Planet Under Pressure: a new climate security agenda.
Larger and richer populations are increasing the pressure on natural resources, further exacerbated by the immediate problem of a changing climate, with serious impacts on water, energy, and food security. The close interdependencies between water, energy and food are multiplying these threats in diverse countries and regions demonstrating that climate security will be an issue for all. An integrated 'nexus approach' is helping decision-makers to manage shared resources and achieve truly sustainable development.
‘Planet Under Pressure’ is the second film Moth Collective has produced for the Global Canopy Programme, a tropical forest think tank working to demonstrate the scientific, political and business case for safeguarding tropical forests as natural capital.
Directed and Designed by Moth Collective
Written by Global Canopy Programme
Sound Design: Joe Tate

"Flutter" by Howie Shia - 2006 (NFB)
How big is the world? Searching for an answer, a young boy waves goodbye to his classmates, hops the schoolyard fence and disappears into the city, swallowed by the din and decadence of its machines and masses and automobiles. Back at school, amidst a crowd of confused onlookers, the runaway's best friend, a young artist, smiles and waves goodbye with equal parts understanding and expectation.

"Colorimétrie en mouvement" by Nicolas Ménard
"Colorimetry in motion" shows translations between those amalgams of shapes. Éric-Renaud Houde designed an app capable of animating the shapes and modify some of their parameters. By recording the generated animations, it was possible to produce a choreography that accompanies the book. The film was designed to loop in a gallery space. You can find the code for the app here: github.com/colorimetrie/colorimetrie

'Le Gouffre' (The Gulf) by Carl Beauchemin, Thomas Chrétien, and David Forest at Lightning Boy Studio
Le Gouffre is the first animated short film produced and directed by Lightning Boy Studio, a young creative team based in Montreal. The film tells the story of two spirited travelers who come across an incredibly wide chasm on their journey and decide to build a bridge to cross it. Released in February 2015, the project had first gained a lot of attention following the huge success of its Kickstarter campaign, which allowed the creators to finance the movie's post-production. Many were impressed by the passion and determination of the small team of three animators, who spent more than two full years creating the 10-minute film. The Making Of:
As of now, Le Gouffre has been selected in more than 40 festivals around the world and won six awards, three of them for "Best Animated Short".

"Forgot" by Stephen McNally
"Forgot is a short film about memory, emigration, longing, Jesus kitsch, cocktail sausages and children's television. Forgot explores the shape of memory, telling the story of a life through its effacing. A non-linear narrative that flashes between childhood and maturity, as it all slips away. From what we long to remember, to what we'd sooner forget."
