Eye of the Fish

The beauty of my new fish eye lens camera's film has finally been developed, and here it is!

Book Review #1

"If one man can be credited with resuscitating American commercial animation from a near-death experience in the 90's, the credit would have to go to Fred Seibert." -AWN
I finally got my copy of his long awaited "Original Cartoons" book and it was worth the wait...or shall I say the weight! Over 200 pages of heavy stock paper all with beautiful full color images made by a group of 34 animation writers and designers. These guys have helped create and develop countless hit shows from the past 8 years. There is so much in this book, postcards, title cards, production art, all from Fred's days at MTV Networks to Hanna Barbera to Frederator, and everything in between. If there ever was a true definition of a coffee table book...this is it!

Creature Feature

Inspired by Grant's amazing sketches, here's some monster drawings.

Stab at Color

Here's a rough colored version of the monk. I got re-familiarized with the tools as I got into it. This Photoshop CS has alot of new tricks to it, I'm beginning to like it more as I get used to it... more to come soon.

Monkeys

Here's an awesome trailer, just love the design style.

Monk

Desperately trying to draw more, it's tough, still very busy with other stuff. Painting the studio is taking twice as long as I thought, and I'm preoccupied wih several other projects that make me work every evening, but enough with the excuses.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Puppets

For anyone who has yet to see Michel Gagne's fantastic interstitials for Nickelodeon from last year - here they are. For anyone who have seen them, watch them again, they're amazing!

In addition - this is definately my new favorite website:

Hellboy!

The high-budget Hellboy animated projects are finally underway. Designs, storyboards, and voice recordings are nearly complete on the first installment of several direct-to-DVD features, co-written and co-produced by Mike Mignola of course. A Scanner Darkly

I can't wait for this movie! Due to be released in early July, the unusual look of the film is achieved with a technique known as interpolated rotoscoping, in which a program called Rotoshop determines vector keyframes of timed images, and then interpolates frames automatically to achieve smooth animation.

Chase

Once upon a time, a few of us began to make an animated short just for fun. Two years later, it has now travelled the world to numerous film festivals. Now we're trying to pitch it to any producer who will give us a few bucks to make more of these chapters, cause it was alot of fun to develop. Here's the wonderful lo-rez web version for all to see.

Art of Blogging

Well, I believe "Blogging" is alot of hard work, constant pressure to update it daily (or weekly at least) is alot to think about. So until I have a chance to scan my awful sketches, here's another pic to laugh at.

Starting Off

Here we go, after countless months of making fun of the term Blog, just because of its funny name, I have now given in to the norm and will contribute to some daily blogging.
