Figures!
Dennis The Menace Vinyl Figure, 1959
It's amazing that this was made about fifty years ago, and yet it's so faithful to the original design. The sculpt captures a very stylized character extremely well, right down to the pose and paint used.

Films
Ropes of Silicon has the first images from the new Coen Brothers film No Country For Old Men. The shots show that while there may be no country for old men, there is Josh Brolin holding a gun, Tommy Lee Jones looking skeptical, and Javier Bardem dressed as Johnny Cash meets He-Man. I'm excited. See the incredible trailer here:
Eastern Promises Trailer, could be cool:
Here's an extended trailer for Sunshine, I've been looking forward to this flick for a year now, it's only a couple weeks away, nice sci-fi movies are rare and too far apart.Via iwtachstuff
Pelican Nebula
Where is the Pelican Nebula? APOD features many objects in the night sky, but usually does not have the resources to show where each one lies. Today, thanks to inventive digital manipulations of Filipe Alves, it is possible to show you exactly where the photogenic Pelican Nebula can be found. Clicking on the image above will cause most browsers to download and play a spectacular movie that zooms from the perspective of an unaided human eye to that of a powerful telescope.

Lines

Audi A5 "Lines" is one hell of a CG beauty from The Mill London directed by Blink's Lynn Fox. Inspired by the fine lines of the new Audi A5, the design of "Lines" was a collaboration between Lynn Fox and James Sindle and Mikko Martikainen of The Mill's 3D team. Made in Maya, and composited in Flame and Shake where great care was spent on enhancing the textures and depth of field to the most subtle and mesmerizing result. (Via Stashmedia)

Son of Rambow
Son of Rambow is a film that was featured at this year’s Sundance Film Festival about two young boys who set out to make their own film after having seen Rambo: First Blood. The movie’s website features a whack of great illustrations inspired by kids, Rambo, and 1980s pop culture. The site is open for submissions, too, eagerly inviting anyone to explore their inner child.
