'Alice in Wonderland' Images!

USA Today and Yahoo have posted some new shots from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and I think you'll be surprised how much they look like the results of a "celebrities as Alice in Wonderland characters" Photoshop contest:

alice-wonderland-8.jpgJohnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Can TIm Burton use ANY other actor in his movies?

I can't wait for this!

Powder 2

Making a trailer for a fictional sequel to Powder: great idea. Naming that sequel Powder 2: Powder to the People and giving it the production values and sensibilities of a Roger Corman film: that is the best thing that can be manufactured by man. If you thought the story of a magic albino needed Jeff Goldblum to bring joy, you were wrong:

The Future is Now

AWN officially reports that the quirky and beloved show FUTURAMA is returning to production after 6 years in the can. After the tremendous success of DVD sales and of the mini-features like “Bender’s Game” and ”The Beast with a Billion Backs,” Fox decided to revive the show and start production on 26 all new episodes. Not only is Fox Television Animation and COMEDY CENTRAL in on the new series, but creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are also in on the new action.

Quipped Matt Groening, “We’re thrilled ‘Futurama’ is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000.” Added David X. Cohen, “We’re excited and amazed that the show is coming back, perhaps due to some sort of mysterious time loop. We look forward to working with COMEDY CENTRAL and 20th Television to make this the best iteration of the loop yet!”

This is not the first time that a canceled show has come back from the archives. FAMILY GUY was the only other animated show to be revived after clamoring fans made their will known.
