HAL 9000
I've been watching a fascinating series of film analyses by Rober Ager. In this first video, he shows that HAL 9000 was based on IBM, and that HAL wins the chess game against the astronaut by cheating in two ways:

Voice Actor - Will Arnet
Arnett has lent his voice to a number of television shows. In 2005, he guest starred in Nickelodeon's hit series 'Danny Phantom' as Ghostwriter. In 2006, Arnett voiced the character Duncan Schiesst for the Comedy Central animated program Freak Show, which was created by and also stars the voice of his former Arrested Development co-star, David Cross.
Arnett took the role of announcer for the faux trailer "Don't" in the movie Grindhouse. He also voiced the character "Vlad" from the CGI film Horton Hears a Who!.[30] He voiced 'The Missing Link' in Dreamworks' film Monsters vs. Aliens. In 2007, he voiced Horst the German sous-chef, in the Disney Pixar film Ratatouille.
Arnett's distinctively gravelly voice has also given him voice-over work for CBS TV promos, film trailers and numerous advertisements.

Eric started his career in animation as a character designer, working with a few production studios in Hollywood. It was this introduction to the animation world that eventually led him to a successful career in voiceovers.
His notable roles include Stimpy of Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon and Slip & Slide D'Peel of Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island. He also voices Rodolfo/White Pantera for El Tigre on Nickelodeon, Storm Shadow, Destro, and Tunnel Rat on G.I. Joe: Resolute, Razoff from Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc and The Professor and Pipo Monkeys in Ape Escape.
