Go read "We3"

Go read We3.

Starring three cute house pets -- a dog, a cat and a rabbit -- the Animal Weapon 3 have been transformed into powerful cybernetic tools of mass destruction. They are content to live in the lab, but when they are deemed obsolete, the three make a daring escape.

Make no mistake, though this trio of animals may melt your heart, this is not Short Circuit with fur. This story is actually good. The WE3 animals have done nothing wrong, they have simply outlived their usefulness to the military. Their fight for freedom is one to easily get behind. It doesn't hurt that this band of brothers can offer limited speech adding just enough humanity to make them extremely sympathetic. They are unaware of their own brutality, but there's something oddly endearing about a pair of puppy eyes from a dog with a mouth full of blood.

Hunted by a fearful military, the three must rely on one another for survival. They try to seek out the elusive "home," a simple word turned to mythical sanctuary in the eyes of WE3. It's a major struggle to find peace, as the military is determined to silence the renegade animals with the bigger, badder Weapon 4.

Brutal, humorous, and heartfelt, WE3 is your typical Disney "talking animals journeying home picture" with a big fat set of balls. I dare you not to fall in love with the critters of WE3, and once Morrison has his hooks in your heart, he tugs repeatedly with a fast-paced action tale that is easily one of the best comics of 2005, I read it years ago, and I just read it again. Trust me, you'll love it, it's well written and very well illustrated, go read it now!
