The Photography of Amy Stein

“Domesticated” is a brilliant series by photographer Amy Stein. If the photos look a little unnatrual to you it’s for good reason, most of the animals are stuffed (rented from a local taxidermist)! Stein is interested in the transition between wild and domesticated and she constructs moments where one encounters the other. The series comes out of her fascination with hunting culture and our desire to domesticate wild things by taming them or killing and stuffing them.
